Gauchos Sweep Paradise Valley

In game one, the Gauchos won 3-1. Both Glendale and Paradise Valley were strong in the circle. Sophomore Azalea Mendez started the game for the Gauchos surrendering 5 hits and 1 run over 6 innings, striking out three. Sophomore Priscilla Armendariz came into the game for the Guachos in the last inning and earned herself a save. The Gauchos lineup stayed consistent all throughout the day. Sophomore Hailey Chandler set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the Gauchos by going 3 for 4 with 2 stolen bases. Freshmans Zerianna Gomez and Dani Chairez both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Zerianna had 2 RBIs and Dani had a triple on the day. Sophmores Taylor James and Priscilla Armendariz both had a stolen base. Sophomore Cassiah Romero went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Freshman Taylor Agaman came into the game late going 1 for 1 at the plate to help the Gauchos advance their lead.

In game two, the Gauchos won 6-1. Sophomore Destiny Rubalcava started in the circle for the Guachos and earned herself the win. Destiny surrendered 2 hits and 1 run over four innings. Freshman Kylee Raven then came into the game, throwing three scoreless innings, surrendered 2 hits and striking out 3 batters. The Gauchos piled up 12 hits in the game. Sophomore Hailey Chandler once again set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 2 for 3 at the plate. Sophomore Cassiah Romero also went 2 for 3 at the plate. Sophomore Samantha Murray came into the game late and went 1 for 1 at the plate, scoring to help advance the Gauchos lead. Brooke Hoffman and Taylor James each drove in 1 run and Hailey Martinez drove in 2 runs for the Gauchos. Both Taylor James and Brooke Hoffman had a stolen base.

The Gauchos are back on the road Tuesday, March 10th to play Pima.
