Baseball Drops Series To Madison College

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College baseball dropped their two game doubleheader on Thursday afternoon against Madison College. With the losses, the Gauchos now sit at 20-12 on the season.

Game 1, 10-4 loss (7 innings)

Hayden Smith went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs in the contest, but the Gauchos couldn't top the Wolfpack, falling 10-4 in game one of the doubleheader. Logan Leavitt was 1-for-3 and had the other RBI for the Gauchos on the day. Everett Sanderson, Josue Malave, Lucian Dixon and David Daniels all collected one hit for the game as well. The Gauchos had 7 hits in 23 at-bats. They left 9 men on base.

Diego Lovesy took the loss for the Gauchos, his third of the season. Eric Parris and Brooklen Stevens were the other two pitchers used for the Gauchos. Collectively the staff gave up 10 runs (7 earned) on 9 hits. They struck out 8 batters and walked 6 batters over the course of 7 innings.

Game 2, 17-1 loss (6 innings)

Only three hitters were able to grab a hit in the second game of the doubleheader, as the Gauchos fell to the Wolfpack, 17-1 in 6 innings. Andrew Shakespeare had the lone RBI for the Gauchos, going 1-for-1 in the contest with a sacrifice fly. Brock Berlan, and David Daniels combined for the remaining two hits. The Gauchos had 3 hits in 20 at-bats, leaving 6 men on base.

Hunter Stockton took the loss for the Gauchos, his first of the season. Five other pitchers were used for Glendale during the game. The staff combined to give up 17 runs (9 earned) on 9 hits.

Glendale Community College baseball returns to action for another non-conference matchup against Lamar Community College out of Colorado. This weekend's game will both be played at Glendale on March 13th and 14th.
