Three Gauchos Given ACCAC Athlete Of The Week Honors

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Three different Glendale Community College men's track and field team members have been recognized as ACCAC men's athletes of the week for their efforts throughout the course of the first three weeks of the season.

 

Week 1: Cole Carpenter & Noah Brezina

Cole Carpenter was named the ACCAC men's track athlete of the week for week 1 after a stellar performance at the NAU Axe'Em meet on January 9th. Carpenter finished in first place in the men's 400 meters with a time of 47.74.

Noah Brezina was named the ACCAC men's field athlete of the week for week 1 after his performance at the NAU Axe'Em meet on January 9th. Brezina placed 17th in the weight throw, with a 14.24 meter mark.

 

Week 2: Tyreeq Jones

Tyreeq Jones was named co-ACCAC men's track athlete of the week for week 2 after posting national sprint times at the Jim Meike Multi and Al Shirley Indoor events. Jones posted a 6.80 time for the men's 60 meters and a 21.31 time in the 200 meters, ranking 3rd in the NJCAA.

 

Week 3: Cole Carpenter

Cole Carpenter was named the ACCAC men's track athlete of the week for week 3 after a solid performance at the Paradise Valley CC Invitational. Carpenter won the 200 meters event with a time of 21.36 and helped lead the Gauchos to a first place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. This is Carpenter's second ACCAC track athlete of the week selection of the season.
