GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Glendale Community College men's and women's soccer programs will host seven doubleheaders at Gaucho Soccer Field as part of a 14-match regular season schedule in 2025.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Jeff Perry, the Gauchos will open the 2025 campaign with five scrimmages apiece. The men's program will host scrimmages with Ottawa University (Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m.), Benedictine-Mesa (Aug.14) and Justice College (Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m.), before traveling to take on Park-Gilbert on Aug. 25 and Arizona Christian University on Sept. 2.
The women's team will take on Justice on Aug. 14 as part of a doubleheader with the men beginning at 5:45 p.m. and then welcome in Nelson College on Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The women will also travel for scrimmages at Ottawa on Aug. 18, and as part of doubleheaders at Park-Gilbert on Aug. 25 and Arizona Christian on Sept. 2.
The regular season kicks off with back-to-back home matches on Sept. 6 and 9. The women's team will play the opening game in each matchup. First up is a doubleheader with Gateway Community College beginning at 5:15 p.m. Three days later, Paradise Valley Community College pays a visit for another 5:15 p.m. start. Each men's match on those nights are slated for 7:30 p.m. starts.
After trips to Mesa Community College (Sept. 13, 5:45 and 8:00 p.m.) and Pima Community College (Sept. 16, 5:45 and 8:00 p.m.), the Gauchos are back home to face Scottsdale Community College on Sept. 20 beginning at 5:15 p.m. The first half of the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) schedule closes with a trip to Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Sept. 23 (5:45 p.m. start) and a home date with Phoenix College on Sept. 27 beginning at 5:15 p.m.
As the calendar turns to October, the Gaucho schedule will play out in the same order as the front half of their schedule, but will flip the venue of each match. GCC will travel to Gateway CC on Oct. 3 beginning at 1:45 p.m. and to Paradise Valley CC on Oct. 7 starting at 1:00 p.m. Home matches then follow with Mesa CC (Oct. 11) and Pima CC (Oct. 14), with each set for 4:45 p.m. Road matches at Scottsdale CC (Oct. 18 at 5:45 p.m.) and Phoenix College (Oct. 25 at 5:45 p.m.) sandwich the final home match of the year on Oct. 21 against Chandler-Gilbert CC, which is slated for a 4:45 p.m. first kick.
If Glendale CC qualifies for the postseason, the women's team would advance to the Region 1 Division II semifinals on Oct. 30, with the finals to follow on Nov. 4. On the men's side, the Region 1 Division II semifinals are scheduled for Oct. 31 and the final will be contested on Nov. 5. The NJCAA Division II National Tournament is set for Nov. 16-22 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan.
