GLENDALE, Ariz. - Coach Ken Carrillo picked up his 100th career victory as head coach of Glendale Community College men's basketball, as the Gauchos completed the season sweep of Chandler-Gilbert Community College, defeating the Coyotes 74-68 on sophomore night. With the win the Gauchos move to 18-10 overall, 9-8 in conference play. The Gauchos also clinched a berth into the region 1 playoffs for this season.
Kenny White led the Gauchos in scoring, finishing with 25 points on 10-of-17 from the floor, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. White, a sophomore from St. Mary's high school also had 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals in the contest. Ty Gibbs (Shadow Ridge) had 17 points on 6-of-9 from the field to go along with 4 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. Stephan Miller (Liberty) finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the contest. The Gauchos shot 43.6% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc, and 72.7% from the foul line. They had 15 assists on 24 made baskets for the game.
The Gauchos return to action for the final game of the regular season on Saturday, February 28th, when they travel to Scottsdale Community College. The Gauchos have split the season series, with each team winning on the road in the first two matchups. Tip-off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 4 P.M.
