GILBERT, Ariz. - Glendale Community College men's basketball ended the month of January with a road victory over Chandler-Gilbert Community College this past Saturday, beating the Coyotes 80-67. The win moves the Gauchos to 15-7 overall, 6-5 in conference play. The Gauchos sit in third place in the ACCAC, 1 game ahead of Mesa and Scottsdale.
Stephan Miller led the scoring charge for the Gauchos, finishing with 26 points on 10-of-17 from the field. Miller, a freshman from Liberty high school, had 11 rebounds and 2 steals for the contest. Kenny White (St. Mary's) ended the game with 16 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds. Malaki Garnica (Brophy) had 12 points and was 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. Ty Gibbs (Shadow Ridge) played a game high 39 minutes and had 10 points, 5 assists and one steal. The Gauchos shot 54.2% from the field, 39% from beyond the arc, and nearly 78% from the foul line. GCC had 13 assists on 32 made field goals.
Glendale Community College men's basketball returns home on Wednesday, February 4th, when they host Scottsdale Community College. In their first matchup, the Gauchos defeated the Artichokes, 84-63. The Artichokes come into the contest with an 11-11 overall record, and are 5-6 in ACCAC play. Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
