Gauchos Fall To 5th Ranked Pima

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College men's basketball dropped their third straight contest Wednesday night, falling to 5th ranked Pima Community College 83-71. The loss moves the Gauchos to 14-7 overall, 5-5 in ACCAC play.

Kenny White led the Gauchos in scoring, finishing with 21 points on 7-of-19 from the floor. White, a sophomore from St. Mary's high school also had 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Kaleb Conley (Boulder Creek) came away with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Kai Hogan (Brophy) had 8 points and 2 rebounds off the bench. Elrick Jamerson (Centennial) had 7 points and 7 rebounds for the contest.

The Gauchos shot 40% from the field, 34.6% from beyond the arc, and had 11 assists on 28 made baskets. The Aztecs outrebounded the Gauchos 49-36, but both teams shot only 50% from the foul line. The Aztecs had 5 players finish in double-figures for the contest.

Glendale Community College men's basketball will return to action on Saturday, January 31st, when they travel to face Chandler-Gilbert Community College. In their first meeting, the Gauchos came away with a 81-79 victory. The Coyotes have won their last 2 games and currently sit at 12-10 overall, 3-7 in conference play. Tip-off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 4 P.M.
