SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College men's basketball defeated Scottsdale Community College Saturday afternoon, 84-63. The win moves the Gauchos to 13-4 overall, 4-2 in ACCAC play. The Gauchos now take sole possession of third place in the conference after the first leg of the conference slate.
The Gauchos were led by the sophomore duo of Ty Gibbs (Shadow Ridge) and Kenny White (St. Mary's). Gibbs and White finished with 19 points each on a combined 13-of-22 from the floor, 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, and accounted for 11 of the Gauchos' 20 assists. Stephan Miller (Liberty) contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds. Miller was 5-of-9 from the field and had 2 assists and a steal. The Gauchos shot 51.7% from the field, and 50% from beyond the arc. GCC defensively held the Artichokes to 30.6% from the field and forced 20 turnovers for the contest.
Glendale Community College men's basketball starts the second leg of the conference slate this week on Wednesday, January 14th, when they host Phoenix College. In the first matchup of the season, the Gauchos came away with a 86-79 victory. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
