Glendale Community College men's basketball capped off the 2024-25 regular season with a dominant victory on sophomore day Saturday afternoon, defeating Phoenix College, 101-76. The Gauchos finish the regular season with an 18-10 overall record, 10-8 in the ACCAC.
Lamont Johnson (Central) led the Gauchos with 26 points on 9-of-17 from the field to go along with 18 rebounds, 5 assists, and one steal. Davis Hester (Liberty) and Jordan Kuac (Ironwood) each ended with 17 points and combined to go 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. Chase Pavey (Sunrise Mountain) finished with 14 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, and one rebound. The Gauchos shot 51.3% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc, and had 25 assists on 39 made field goals.
Glendale Community College men's basketball finished the regular season in 3rd place in the ACCAC standings and have qualified for the NJCAA Region 1 Division 2 tournament. The Gauchos will travel to Chandler-Gilbert Community College for the semi-finals on Wednesday, March 5th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM.
